Notice to DKS-owned school regarding Congress padayatra
During the padayatra a few days ago, Shivakumar had visited the school with his followers
The Department of Public Instruction (DPI) has served notice on Vishvodaya High School in Kodihalli, Kanakapura taluk, following the schoolchildren’s participation in the Mekedatu padayatra organized by the Congress.
The schools, according to department officials, are owned by KPCC Chairman DK Shivakumar and operated with government assistance. During the padayatra a few days ago, Shivakumar had visited the school with his followers. He allegedly incited children to shout slogans in favor of padayatra.
Shivakumar’s action had earned the wrath of the National Commission for the Protection of Children’s Rights. The Department of Primary and Secondary Education requested a report from the Block Education Officer about the incident.
“School officials provided an explanation for the notice and claimed that they have disinfected the entire school premises,” Ramanagara DPI officials told DH.
