MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A woman who was previously named “Rookie Teacher of the Year” at Hialeah Middle School was released from prison on Tuesday, a day after being accused of repeatedly having sex with a 14-year-old former student in his car.
Brittiny Lopez-Murray, 31, was arrested on Monday but released from prison on Tuesday after being ordered to stay away from the victim.

According to the arrest report, Lopez-Murray had multiple sex with the boy over a two-month period, starting in August.

According to the arrest report, the student’s sister saw explicit sex messages on her phone and told their parents who reported her to the authorities.
Lopez-Murray, who taught at Hialeah High School for four years, was named “Rookie Teacher of the Year” in 2017.
She faces several counts, including sexual assault, lewd and lascivious bodily harm, sex with a child and promoting a child’s sexual performance, according to the report.
