Thom Mayne, Pritzker Prize-winning architect, will present the Fay Jones School lecture on April 15

With the Perot Museum of Nature and Science in Dallas, Texas, the Morphosis firm designed the building itself as a didactic tool to demonstrate scientific principles at work. Talley Associates, the firm of Fay Jones School alumnus Coy Talley, served as a consultant for the landscape architecture and sustainability of the site.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Thom Mayne, winner of the Pritzker Architecture Prize, will present a talk at 4:45 p.m. on Monday, April 15, in the Ken and Linda Sue Shollmier Hall, Room 250 of the Flight Walker Hall, on the campus of the University of Arkansas, in the part of the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design lecture series.

Mayne, FAIA, is the founding director of Morphosis, a global design firm engaged in architecture, urban planning, and research since 1972. The firm has offices in Los Angeles, New York and Shanghai, with projects in around the world, and his work represents a wide variety of scales and typologies, from civic projects, schools and museums to commercial towers and town planning.

His talk is entitled “The Immensity of Interconnection”.

Mayne received the Pritzker Prize in 2005 and the Gold Medal from the American Institute of Architects in 2013. The Pritzker Prize, awarded each year, is often called “Nobel of architecture” and “the highest honor. of the profession ”. He served on the Presidential Committee on the Arts and Humanities from 2009 to 2016.

Mayne helped found the Southern California Institute of Architecture in 1972. He is a Distinguished Professor at the University of California, Los Angeles Architecture and Urban Design.
